Great concept, good location, adequate & as expected interior, pleasant enough. Friendly, eager, polite & professional staff. Seating arrangement could be better. Heating was off.. for the start of October, we found it a little cold. Locally sourced fresh produce. Raw basic quality of food is good, but the overall presentation and what they did with the food was a disappointment. The quality of the sirloin & fillet was fantastic... however once it had been burnt rather than chargrilled and over seasoned it lost its appeal. Plates were too small, cold & crammed. Creamy mash was not creamy but gloopy & over seasoned. Mini onion skewers & beer batter mushrooms were a great idea but just did not work. Definitely won't visit again. Can't fault the idea, just didn't all come together.

Having read the review by Sophia, both on Station Grill and other establishments, I think she has probably lead a very sheltered life. I found little to complain about in respect of Station Grill.
I have travelled widely and eaten at some of the finest establishments. Station Grill provides excellent food at budget prices. The company was very pleasant, the staff were bright, alert and very eager to please. The owners are lovely people who care very much about service and reputation.
Sophia would be well advised to stop watching too many TV food programmes, cook for herself and her husband and stop assuming she is a food critic for Powys and surrounding areas.
Basically if one has nothing good to say about somewhere or someone, then shut up about things they know nothing about.
Keep going strong Station Grill, The Lamb at Kerry & Lloyds.
