Food Quality

superb quality, fresh vegetables, real home made cooking, freshly prepared and catered for my intolorances really well. Bar man even told me they have a seperate clean chip pan from any breaded or battered fish that was on special that day. overal they couldnt be helpful enough. i even asked for a gluten free dessert (of which they were all homemade) they suggested apple and walnut crumble cooked to order with a nut based topping. overal i feel they gave me special treatment and bent over backwards to please all of our very large party.
Menu Choice

the menu catered for all our needs, a range of veggies, fish, chicken , game and meat dishes. meat was of a good quality and we were told by waitress it was organic, they also informed us where it was sourced and what part of the animal it came from. highly motivated staff with recommendations as to what to choose on the menu.
Service

service, both waitresses were clean, well dressed , friendly and highly knowledgeable and motivated. They were there for us when required but not in our faces whilst we socialised. really encouraging to see well informed staff supplying good friendly service.
Facilities

excellent clean beautifully fresh toilets.
a local produce shop inside between bar and restaurant selling local real ale and preserves, chutneys etc. what a little treat! sweet jars, log fires, comfortable sofas. wonderful use of space, without being crammed on to small tables
wonderful meal, delightful service. highly recommended

Food Quality

we eat at The Pelican Inn quite frequently, the food is freshly prepared always something different on the seasonal specials board, this week my partner had the slow braised oxtail, curly kale and chantilly carrots with redwine and caper jus. (perfect) and i had the brown trout, poached egg and samphire with bread and butter (gorgeous) . whenever we go its never a dissappointment! what a treat to have such a great traditional well kept pub in the village
Menu Choice

everything from your simple ham, egg and chips to your seasonal produce, everything done with quality in mind, hand cut chips, home made desserts, fresh veg, obviously fresh fish and steaks locally sourced to die for!
Service

the service is not stiff, its really friendly and never ever too much trouble!
Facilities

clean toilets, great little real ale shop, the bed and breakfast photos look good too, cant wait to use the massive garden in the summer, my only critism is my friend is disabled and wont be able to use the garden due to poor access
we keep returning, and making a point to every one we know to go and see for your selves. clean , friendly , quality without being to pretentious. a true British pub that does really good food!
